New compact and highly configurable Raman Spectrometer series

Wasatch Photonics’ new X-Series of Raman Spectrometers & Systems is designed with OEM-inside approach to provide researchers and OEMs tailored spectroscopy systems solutions.

SphereOptics supplier Wasatch Photonics launched its new flagship line of compact Raman spectrometers and systems. The WP Raman X series is the most powerful and comprehensive compact Raman product line ever developed. It is characterized by superior sensitivity and flexibility, meeting the needs of both – researchers and OEM instrument developers. The X-series includes modular spectrometers, integrated lasers, complete Raman spectroscopy systems and OEM modules for the wavelength range from 532 to 1064 nm.

Wasatch’s X series is configurable for a wide range of applications and covering the fingerprint and functional peaks. It features the signature sensitive but also robust design, refined for manufacturability with a unified optomechanical design. The X series replaces the previous Wasatch Photonics spectrometer series and utilizes a patented VPH grating for improved sensitivity and a high throughput optical bench.

Configurable Raman spectroscopy system

Wasatch’s X series includes modular spectrometers, integrated lasers, complete Raman spectroscopy systems, and OEM modules ever designed by Wasatch. Various configuration options such as wavelength (532, 638 785, 830 1064 nm), optical coupling & detector, balance of signal & resolution enable the customers to optimize the product to their unique needs for their specific application.

The X series uses a highly configurable optomechanical design that is scalable from 1 to >1000, making it quick and easy to customize to a wide range of applications and use case requirements resulting in maximum performance at less weight and costs compared to traditional benchtop Raman.

These units cover the fingerprint and functional region with <10 cm-1 resolution, making them suitable for most identification, diagnostic, and process applications. Each unit comes with onboard calibration data for spectral response and wavelength, which ensures high spectral accuracy and unit-to-unit reproducibility. Several measurement setups and customization options (fully modular, semi-integrated or fully integrated system).

Unique “OEM inside” approach

Wasatch created the X series for emerging OEMs who are developing innovative new applications of Raman that require a compact module and/or portable Raman spectroscopy system. Both, the laboratory, and the OEM versions, feature the same sensitive, robust and highly reproducible optomechanical design. Easy and confident transition from research to product development with no change in performance or need to update libraries or models. All OEM modules come with a programmer-friendly, open-source software and SDKs in multiple languages and GitHub access.
