The JETI spectraval 1511 is a versatile spectroradiometer configured as standard for measuring spot spectral radiance or luminance. By attaching an optional cosine diffuser, the spectraval can also be used to measure spectral irradiance and illuminance. Being a spectroradiometer, the spectraval 1511 measures the spectral radiance or irradiance of the light source or display between 380 and 780 nm (380 – 1000 nm for the NIR model) and accurately computes all of the derived photometric and colorimetric parameters, including luminance, illuminance, CIE chromaticity, correlated colour temperature (CCT) and colour rendering index (CRI), as well as circadian and other radiometric parameters. Accessory focussing optics are available to reduce the measurement area down to as small as 0.5 mm diameter.
The spectraval 1511 is fully portable – with its own display and on-board data processing and storage, you don’t need to carry a computer around with you. When you’re back in your lab, the spectraval 1511 communicates with your PC running JETI’s LiVal software via Bluetooth and USB interfaces. The 1511 can be optionally equipped with an ethernet (LAN) interface. The spectraval features an internal piezoelectric shutter for dark current correction.
Please note that accessory optics (cosine diffusers and close-up lenses) are able to be quickly and easily swapped by the operator, depending upon the type of measurement to be performed. If you intend using any focussing (close-up) lenses with your spectraval 1511, even if you don’t buy them with the instrument, you should order the spectraval 1511 “Focus” model that is configured to allow for the use of focussing optics at a later date.
When operated in spot radiance/luminance mode, the spectraval 1511 has a 1.8° measurement field-of-view. Accessory focussing optics are available to reduce the measurement area down to 3.0, 1.0 or 0.5mm diameter. The spectraval 1511 features a convenient, integrated laser diode pointer that projects a red circle onto the target object to clearly denote the measurement zone. Remember that as with all spot photometers, colorimeters and spectroradiometers, it is essential that the measurement spot falls well within the lit area of the object under test, otherwise large errors could ensue. This is particular important when testing the luminance of small objects such as switch legends or vehicle instrument panels and controls.
The spectraval 1511 is configured and calibrated as standard to measure spot spectral radiance and luminance. By simply attaching an optional cosine diffuser to the input of the Spectraval, it can also be used to measure spectral irradiance and illuminance. Best of all, the Spectraval “knows” when you have the cosine diffuser attached and adjusts measurement parameters and calibration accordingly.
