User-Configurable Fibre Optic Raman Probes

Optimised Fibre Optic Raman Probes for Wasatch Spectrometers

Wasatch’s innovative Raman probe design features a modular, user-replaceable tip and fibres, which allows you to configure and reconfigure your sampling optics optimised for each new application. Choose from a standard probe tip, a longer ball probe for process applications, or a unique SM05 adaptor with 12.7mm lenses to access focal lengths ranging from sub-mm to up to 50mm from the probe tip. All probes are optimised for use with Wasatch’s f/1.3 Raman spectrometers to maximise collection efficiency and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).

Wasatch’s standard probes have been used in a wide variety of applications, including identification of plastics. The new contact ball probe tip has proven ideal as a Raman process probe to monitor fermentation of sugar. It has also been used with ultrasonic capture for in-situ detection of microplastics – see Spectroscopy magazine’s June 2020 special issue on Raman.
