The Westboro Photonics conoscopic lens accessory uses Fourier optics to enable luminance and chromaticity measurements of flat panel displays out to +/-80 degrees from normal (160 degrees full angle). The conoscopic lens accessory can be fitted to the WP512 and WP525 series of imaging colorimeters or imaging spectral colorimeters.
Westboro Photonics Conoscopic Lens Accessory for WP512 & WP525 Imaging Colorimeters
Please note that this lens is distinct from the Westboro Conometer 80 which is a dedicated imaging photometer configured for display view angle measurements.
With the conoscopic lens attached, the calibrated colorimeter system provides accurate and reliable measurements of many parameters as a function of viewing angle including luminance, chromaticity, contrast, gamma and gamma inversion, and more.
AR/VR Display Testing
With an optional 2mm entrance pupil adapter, the conoscopic lens provides a 160° horizontal and 160° vertical measurement field of view of near-to-eye displays (NEDs).

An imaging colorimeter is a powerful camera-based instrument that provides for vastly increased productivity compared with ‘spot’ luminance meters. Imaging photometers and colorimeters find application with automotive and avionics displays and controls, vehicle lighting, near-to-eye displays, flat panel displays, lit area uniformity of lighting products and with projected beam pattern analysis of lamps and LEDs. An imaging colorimeter equipped with a conoscopic lens can be used to test the view angle of the following products:
