High-Sensitivity Hyperspectral Imaging System for Laboratory, Microscopy and Low-Light Applications
Our partner Hinalea Imaging has launched the VNIR ULTRA, a top-of-the-line visible near-infrared (VNIR) hyperspectral imaging system designed for demanding laboratory research, microscopy, and photon-limited applications.
Covering the 400–1,000 nm spectral range, the Hinalea VNIR Ultra system captures 301 spectral bands with 4nm FWHM spectral resolution. Powered by Hinalea’s tunable Fabry–Perot Interferometer (FPI) technology, the system captures full-frame 2D images at each wavelength, producing high-quality hyperspectral data cubes without mechanical scanning.
Built around a high-sensitivity sCMOS sensor with 2048 × 2048 spatial resolution, the VNIR Ultra delivers high spectral fidelity, excellent spatial detail, and impressive performance in low-light imaging conditions.
“We developed the VNIR Ultra system based on a high sensitivity sCMOS sensor with the most challenging light starved applications in mind. It delivers highest performance in terms of spectral characterization of subjects or specimens, where photon counts are limited, without having to contend with excessively long exposures,” said Alex Fong, CTO of Hinalea Imaging.
The VNIR ULTRA is designed for straightforward integration with both standard and custom optical systems. The camera features an SM1 mount, with support for C-mount, F-mount, and other adapters.
The system is supplied with Hinalea’s integrated software platform and SDK, enabling acquisition, analysis, and export to ENVI, Python, Hinalea software, and other third-party platforms.
The Hinalea VNIR ULTRA is ideally suited for hyperspectral microscopy, life science and biomedical research, materials characterization, plant and agricultural research, semiconductor inspection, advanced laboratory and research imaging as well as for spectral analysis of low-light or photon-limited samples.
