Spectralon® Reflectance Standards

Spectralon® – Diffuse Reflectance Standards

  • Nearly ideal lambertian, diffuse reflectance from 2 % to 99 %
  • Spectralon materials are optically flat to +/- 4% over the range of 250 – 2500 nm and +/- 1% over the photopic region of the spectrum
  • Certified calibration is traceable to NIST
  • Surface reflectivity is constant in range of +/- 1 % R

Short Description

Labsphere diffuse reflectance standards are made out of Spectralon, a high reflective, PTFE-based material that is resistant to heat, humidity and exposure to high levels of radiation, making them ideal for usage as optical standards. Those are available in two sizes of 1,25” and 2” diameter with reflectance values ranging from 99% to 2%. Standards are sold individually or in sets of two, four or eight standards with a defined choice of reflectance values. Each standard is packaged in a durable holder with a protective cover and comes in a storage box.

Properties

  • Non-polar, insulator, hydrophobic
  • Chemically inert, exception: reacts with organic Lithium and Sodium compounds
  • Thermal stabile up to 350 °C
  • Usable humidity range: 5 % to 95 %, but water absorption bands will be visible

Applications

  • Diffuse reflectance standards for light measurements and calibration
  • Definition of contrast for cameras calibration
  • Calibration of integrating sphere systems
  • Calibration of spectrometers, photometers and radiometers
  • Environment laser targets
  • Environment test targets
  • Light source characteristic and behavior
