Integrating Sphere Laser Power Measurement System LPMS®

  • Special detector arrangement geometry allows stable measurement of highly divergent lasers
  • No coupling optics necessary
  • Laser power measurement insensitive to variations in coupling direction and coupling position
  • Two detector inputs
  • Complete LPMS system includes integrating sphere, detector, readout electronics and calibration
  • Integrating sphere also available separately (product number LPM)
  • Liquid-cooled and gold-coated spheres available for high-power lasers

Short Description

Labsphere′s LPMS laser power meters measure the CW output power of lasers in the range 15 µW to kW in the spectral range from 300 nm to 20 µm. The unique arrangement of the integrating sphere and the detector inputs enable the measurement of laser sources with a beam divergence of up to +/- 40°. At the same time, the measurement is not influenced by changes in the beam coupling. The LPMS system consists of LPM integrating spheres with diameters of 2, 4 and 6 inches, a detector, readout electronics and a power calibration. A second detector input can be used for an optional spectrometer. Various detectors such as silicon, InGaAs or germanium are available. With three different coatings of the integrating sphere (Spectraflect®, Spectralon® and InfraGold®), a wide spectral range is covered. Cooled gold-coated integrating spheres are available for measuring high-power lasers.

Applications

  • Power measurement of collimated and divergent lasers
  • Laser and laser diode characterisation
  • Gold-coated and cooled spheres allow measurement of kW lasers
  • Characterisation of infrared lasers, CO2 lasers and laser diode bars
